I am excited to share a major milestone in my research journey: the publication of my second-author scientific paper, Lack of Consistent Diurnal Trends in Acoustic Metrics from Restored Coral Reefs.
This study focuses on the use of passive acoustic monitoring as a non-invasive approach to study restored coral reefs in Culebra, Puerto Rico. Our work explores how reef soundscapes vary across space and time and contributes to ongoing conversations about how bioacoustics can be used to support coral reef restoration and conservation efforts.
Reaching this milestone after months of fieldwork, data analysis, and countless research discussions is incredibly rewarding. I am deeply grateful to everyone involved in this project for their dedication, collaboration, and support, and I feel incredibly proud to be part of such a committed research team.
This publication represents an important step forward, and we are already continuing this work with the next phase of the project. I am especially excited to share that I will be first author on an upcoming manuscript focused on characterizing the sounds that compose restored coral reef ecosystems in Culebra, Puerto Rico.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support my journey:)
